Skenia IV is a modded server, meaning you need to install mods in order to play.
There are two official versions of the SkeniaPack and they are both available on CurseForge, links bellow.
If you don't care about the graphics, or have a lower-end computer, get the LITE pack, it has all you need to join. Another option is the FULL pack, which additionally contains a few aesthetic and decoration mods to make Skenia look even fancier, but it will be somewhat harder to run.

When you first join Skenia IV, a short tutorial will begin. Lasting only a few minutes it will teach you the basics on how to start playing.

The most important point from this tutorial is the /mission command, because using it you will get to explore the capital city of Acropolis.

While exploring, you'll find many tutorial screens sprinkled around in important places, some of them explaining commands, others game mechanics or RPG elements of Skenia.

At any point, as you certainly will,you can return to Acropolis these tutorial screens again, to refresh your memory!

The world of Skenia IV is a very old collection of islands, with the main one being around 6km in diameter.
Feel free to explore any part of it using the rail network centered in Acropolis station.
Because the world is protected, you will need to claim some territory for yourself before being able to build anything. As you go further away from Acropolis, the land gets cheaper and cheaper, so exploration is key!
Every time you sell a piece of land, be it your area or a city plot, it will magically regenerate perfectly to its original state, use this to exploit valuable resources in cheaper regions!

The main way of earning money on Skenia IV are jobs, of which there are many.

Depending on the economy, salaries of every profession will slightly change from time to time, but some tend to be always paid more than others.

Every profession has many tiers you can level up to, each carrying a pay raise and requiring relevant quests to attain. If you plan on building an empire on Skenia, these should be your first priority!

Other than official professions, you can always trade directly with other citizens, or create private shops in 5 different cities of Skenia, all connected by free to use, public rail!
